Here's a profile of up-and-coming economist Roland G. Fryers Jr. It's been up at the New York Times website for a month already so I don't think they'll be keeping it up for very much longer. But what really impresses me is his willingness, nay, hunger, to take the bull by the horns when it comes to investigating racial issues in economic terms. What are the concrete reasons for the achievement gap between blacks and whites and how can that gap best be closed.
