Cory Maye Update

Now we're cookin' with gas!

There is now a legal defense fund for Cory Maye. This is what will pay for further detective work into the case. On the actual legal end, a DC firm might be willing to do some pro-bono work.

Laura of What Is Liberalism, in addition to designing some very cool buttons to help people keep the case visible on blogs (see the button right under the Panda, which you can grab for your own sidebar here), are looking into starting a petition on Cory Maye's behalf. This is a great idea that I've not thought of at all. Like I said in this post, what is frustrating about attention through the blogisphere is that it ebbs and flows within a few short days. Now a petition is a place where we can record the evidence of our support for Cory Maye and add to it in a cumulative way as more people learn about the story.
