Note to Democrats

Put up your dukes. don't use them to cover your ass.

Mike the Mad Biologist calls this phenomenon Kerryitis, which is very apt. Don't get me wrong. Kerry's OK by me (although I wish he'd realize that he has had his shot at the brass ring already), but he typifies the CYA mentality. Forget about economists. What this country needs is some one-handed Democrats.

Actually, I just remembered Howard Dean. So scratch that. What this country needs is not more forthright Democrats, but ones who are better at playing the soundbite game. Choose your message. Rinse. Repeat. Don't go out on a limb, because you will be penalized. But never apologize for your positions.
