Washington's Corset

Nope. This is not some twisted historical metaphor. He actually wore one. Think the paradoxically slender yet potbellied look of the portraits of the founding fathers is a mere quirk, artistic license on the part of the artists back then? Nope. Boys were actually moulded in corsets until the age of five to achieve the desired physique as they matured.

No accounting for taste. Well, what do you expect from people who thought powdered wigs were a good look?
